    mexy williams was the best baseball player of all time. remember, he lost 4-5 prime years in ww2 and korea. he would have hit 750 homers had he not gone.

    ray leonard was a better athlete than ripken. leonard beat duran, hearns, benitez, and hagler.

    Thanks I took it down..Joe Gans I remember but never thought where he came from...don't know how I missed it all this time. Ruth is a big one there..his museum/house is easy to get to. I'm sure you have been there.

    Being we have references to Brooks Robinson and Ted Williams here I'll throw out a little fact. Brooks Robinson had the only RBI in a 1-0 victory ten times in his career, a major league record, Ted Williams is second with nine.

    Brooks Robinson, besides being an all round great player, is known for that great play over the bag at third and that long throw.
